Whilst the sun is shining, and with the fields having turned a golden yellow colour, we took our DJI M100 up to the Faringdon Folly to take some pictures and video.
Using a double grid automated flight and a point of interest flight, we captured around 400 photos, along with some video. The photos were processed into a dense point cloud of around 20,000,000 points, a digital surface model, and a 3D model.
All in all, it took around 1 hr to collect the data, and half a day to process. Not sure there is a quicker or more cost-effective way to collect such high resolution and accurate point data over complex geometries.
